Sewing for the Lord

Stitched with prayer to reflect God’s glory and beauty

The wood of the Cross

When I started working on this design, I had something completely different on my mind. I drafted a picture of stained-glass cross, but when I went through the fabrics that I had at home, nothing matched my vision, so I decided to venture to the fabric shop. I found a Dupion Silk in antique gold which wasn’t what I had in mind originally, but I liked it.

I did exactly what I planned for the stained-glass cross, but on that plain colour fabric and I was absolutely stunned by the result. I still had the stained-glass in my mind, but the stitches and the texture of Dupion Silk gave a beautiful wood effect.
